Below is a list of resources for Baltimoreans in need of emergency shelter and other essential services. COVID-19 resources for service providers and people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness can be found here.

Baltimore City Shelter Hotline 

Call 443-984-9540 from 9:00AM to 9:30PM Monday through Friday if you are in need of emergency shelter.  After hours and on weekends, shelter requests should be made by calling shelters directly. See below for locations and contact information.

Baltimore City Homeless Street Outreach Card

Are you concerned for yourself of someone else who may be sleeping outdoors?  Outreach and supporting services are available for people living on the streets and other places not meant for human habitation. The City's Street Outreach Card is available here and contains a list of resources for those in need of shelter and support services. You can also email [email protected] to request assistance.

Need answers and don’t know where to turn? Help is available through 2-1-1 Maryland. 2-11 is a hotline providing free, confidential help in 150 languages. 2-1-1 Maryland connects Marylanders in need of assistance to the health and human services they need to achieve a more stable life for themselves and their families. 2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that gives Marylanders access to information about resources and services they need to thrive, including information about shelter, food, and free mental health services. A trusted and caring call specialist is there for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In fiscal year 2015, 2-1-1 Maryland at United Way of Central Maryland answered more than 103,000 calls around food, housing, health care, utility assistance and more.

Domestic Violence Hotline: 410-889-7884

House of Ruth Maryland’s 24/7 hotline is a confidential lifeline to victims in need. Counselors are trained in crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling and legal referrals, and pro-active advocacy to victims, as well as their families, friends, and the community in general.

 

Mental Health

Homeless Veterans Hotline: 1-877-424-3838

Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness—and their family members, friends and supporters—can make the call to or chat online with the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans, where trained counselors are ready to talk confidentially 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Baltimore Crisis Response: 410-433-5175

Baltimore Crisis Response offers a crisis and information referral hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week assisting people in crisis with emotional health and well-being services.

Health Care

Health Care for the Homeless partners with caregivers, advocates, donors and our unhoused neighbors to provide comprehensive health care services and supportive services to people experiencing homelessness. The agency applies a whole-person approach to care and take into account all aspects of life and health in an individual's treatment. Call 410-837-5533 to be connected to services.

Rapid Re-Housing

If you are currently experiencing homelessness and are unsheltered, please contact any of the agencies designated as a Coordinated Access Navigator Site to learn more about RRH. Detailed information can be found on the Homeless Street Outreach Card. If you are currently experiencing homelessness and staying in a shelter, please connect with your case manager. Eviction Prevention

Households in need of eviction prevention assistance can apply for assistance through the Mayor’s Office of Children and Family Success. Assistance includes past-due rent and utilities payments, relocation support, legal support and case management. More information and additional resources can be found here.
