The Journey Home relies on donations from people like you to respond to the unique needs and circumstances of our unhoused neighbors. Your donations contribute to our mission to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring in Baltimore City. Thanks to your generosity, Baltimore is able to provide health care services, case management, job readiness training, educational supports, and housing to thousands of people experiencing homelessness each year.
The Journey Home is appreciative of gifts of any size. As you decide on the level of your contribution, we encourage you to consider the following:
Three dollars and fifty cents can cover a one day bus pass and allow a person experiencing homelessness to attend job training, an interview, or a meeting for permanent housing.
Sixteen dollars and fifty cents can pay for a bus pass for a week.
Twenty-five dollars can cover one night in a shelter for one individual, including meals and services.
Fifty dollars can provide kitchen and basic household supplies (like bedding) for a family moving from homelessness to permanent housing.
One-hundred dollars can support an individual on the way to gainful employment by providing them with essential items, such as uniforms and equipments.
Six-hundred dollars can furnish an apartment for an individual or family moving from homelessness to permanent housing.
Two-thousand and five-hundred dollars could allow a family to move out of homelessness by covering their security deposit and/or first month’s rent—and linking them to supportive services, such as counseling and case management.
