How Can I Help?

Invest in the homeless!

To make homelessness rare and brief requires a long-term commitment from all community stakeholders. The private sector can play a key role in supporting the creation of permanent supportive housing for the homeless.

Are you a Landlord? List your property with us!   We have dozens of veterans with housing vouchers that are waiting to be matched with a community-minded landlord with quality properties.  Share your contact information, and one of our housing coordinators will be in touch when a veteran’s needs match your available property.

Organize a Household Items Collection Drive!  Many homeless people and their families are placed into housing but do not have the most basic household essentials.  You can help make a house a home by getting together

with your colleagues, family, and friends to collect household items and create Move-In Kits.  Each move-in kit should include the following new items:

Minimum Items Needed
  • Small pots and pans set
  • Silverware
  • Bowls, plates, and cups
  • Cooking utensils
  • Dishtowels
  • Bath towels and washcloths
Optional Additional Items
  • Dishsoap and sponges
  • Household cleaning supplies
  • Laundry detergent
  • Pack of paper towels
  • Pack of toilet paper

You can choose to make your move-in kit for an individual or a family.  Please place all items into 1-2 large storage bins for easy transport and label the side with individual or family.  Let us know about your drive by emailing Danielle Meister, Continuum of Care Coordinator.

Donate!   Individuals and families often face financial obstacles that can prevent them from moving from homelessness into housing.  Financial donations are needed to help veterans with rental application fees, security deposits, utility deposits, furniture, moving costs, small appliances, and more—small obstacles that can cause someone to remain homeless. Make a contribution here.

Volunteer!    Many of our nonprofit partners call on volunteers to serve meals, teach skills or classes, assist with administrative work, and much more.   There is a perfect volunteer opportunity to fit every person!  A list of our partners and their contact information is available here.
